A real friend will tell you what you need to hear. An enemy will tell what you want to hear.
No one is perfect and we all have blind spot which is why it is so good to have people around that tells you as it is.
We might not like it at the time but it is better than someone who just hangs on to every word you say and sees you making the same mistakes and not giving you any correction. Be a friend that doesn’t wait until your friend is in the pit and then run to be the hero when it no good. We all want that friend sometimes it is good for us to be that friend.
Always go directly to the person, If you go to someone else who is not part of the problem or the solution then it is gossip not love. “If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone.
God has not given us a Spirit of criticism, so don’t get carried away and start telling people off or challenging them. Be wise and listen to Him always.
When the occasion rise go to the person and loving, gently and humbly go for their sake because you care. Not because you have an agenda. Be the friend that you wish you had.
