"For no word from God will ever fail.”

Luke 1:37 NIV

Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour: Welcome all 🙂

Apologies, It is a late one today. Hope you had a wonderful weekend.
Ecological Park, Bermondsey, Southwark. London.

First Monday in May.

To everything there is a season. A time for every purpose under the Heavens.

The Vault: Today I want to be outside the vault, I love stories. To hear stories and absorb them requires listening:

Yesterday I spent the whole day outside my house. Walking with a friend and ending in the Ecology Park: This park always amazes me, and if you are ever in bermondsey walk in this park and see the greens even for a city it looks amazing.

Not sure about you, this year seems to be going fast. I have this tradition in me that I give thanks for the month ahead because I am walking by faith and every obstacle that may come my way I give to the Lord. Cast all my cares and burdens to Him

This is one of my favourite verses and there is something about reading it with a new set of eyes and seeing it in a different light.

"Matthew 6:25-34- DO NOT WORRY"

Familiarity is a curse in my opinion when it comes to scriptures, hear me out.
The reasons is
We lose the meaning behind the message.
We glance over words

It does not touch the heart anymore
It stops in the mind

The doors are shut
It bounces like a ball in our hand as we play with it mindless

The Bible
The Words spoken
Are God words
So take it seriously

Do we listen to the words?

So reflecting on the words in Luke 1:26-38 and looking at the reaction of Mary (Mother of Jesus) as she listens to what the angel says, she ponders it in her heart and in response to her listening skills comes questions. Questions comes answers

Listen equals reflection and then the right questions to get the right answers.

One of the reasons why  we don’t listen well is that we tend not to apply all of our brain power and heart to the exercise. Listening is an exercise and must be done daily to optimise its skills, or see the growth of it.

Most of the time, half or three-quarters of our brain could very well be doing something else while we are reading or listening to someone speak.

In the content of listening to the bible: there will be other things going on in the same space.

Maybe there are people walking about
Maybe your phone lights up, telling you that you have received a text
Maybe there’s music in the room
Maybe there’s television in the background

Meanwhile you thinking of the to-do list
The next meeting
What am I going to say to my friend or family when I see them in the next hour
What will I have for breakfast or lunch or dinner

Do everything you can to tune all of this out
And be completely present

Studying the word in the right conditions will likely improve your focus.
And both in preparation for the study

When studying in a group:
I find out that note taking is best when listening

Notes allow you to organise and process information in a way that makes it most likely that you can us this information afterward.

But don’t fall into the temptation of concentrating on the note taking that you forget listening to the words. But make sure you are really listening. Guess what you are not a secretary, you not around as someone who is receiving information for later use. Therefore it is very important to hear what others are saying:

Take notes of what is emphasised
Make sure you understand what the points the speaker is making and if
opportunity arises ask questions.

After notes taking, ensure you review the notes immediately
It helps you retain the information much more effectively than if you don't read the notes for days
As an extra bonus
You will be able to supplement your notes with anything you might have missed while taking the notes
because the information will still be fresh in your mind.

Remember God loves you and nothing we do surprises Him. He requires our attention and obedience and that is listening. Not a massive lists of things to do but “Let it be to me according to Your word”

My soul will magnify the Lord
And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Saviour
I will rejoice in Your Salvation

No one is Holy like the Lord
For there is none like You
Nor is there any rock like our God
Oh dear, look around. It is time for me to say goodbye but... hope to see you again.

Thank you again for stopping by it means a lot to me

Pray you have a wonderful week 🙂

May your week be full of The Joy of the Lord
I praise God for your life
May He teach you
His way as you walk in His foot path
In the Name of Jesus
Amen

Remember,
We cannot control what happens around us,
but we can control our responses.
Be bless and know that the Lord loves you
Lots of Love - Hannah

And I also pray that this verse refreshes you this week:
'However,
I consider my life worth nothing to me;
my only aim is to finish the race and
complete the task the Lord Jesus has given
me—the task of testifying to the
good news of God’s grace. '
Acts 20:24 NIV
