No one likes the dark, I have come to understand as children of God we grow up hating the dark. We want to be in the light. As I lift my eyes to the Lord the Maker of Heaven and Earth. He will guide my footsteps for the Lord my God is front as I walk in behind His footsteps. Yes, the Lord has spoken and dear friends we must follow
There is no condemnation in the light There is no sin in the light There is forgiveness and love There is compassion For the Lord our God comes down to our level To understand what we go through I smile because He smile first I Love because He loved first So let us come to the Lord, for He cares.
The vault beckons to understand the nutrients we need, come let us explore Brassica. It is always nice to know why natural food is better. Why should we eat it? What are the consequences of not having the right nutrients? All foods play an important part in the body. So many varieties, so if you don’t like one try another of the same group to ensure you get your vitamins and minerals always.
It is essential for non-vegetarians, vegetarians and vegans to eat a wide variety of foods to ensure an adequate intake of important nutrients are taken.
A food can be rich in nutrients, but how many of them will actually make it to the bloodstream?
It is important to boost them by substance and avoid substances that impairs the process
IRON: Eating a Vitamin C-rich foods along with Iron-rich foods will greatly improve the absorption of Iron.
Limit intake of tea/coffee as this impairs the absorption process.
Men require 10mg and women 15 to 18mg per day
Green Vegetables: Also adding a little fat or oil to green vegetables helps the body absorb more of the fat-soluble Vitamins A, D, E, and K
Carefully planning a diet will ensure the correct intake of nutrients.
Brassica is a genus plants of the cabbage and mustard family:
They are diverse and also united by their nutritional genius.
Offering an amazing combination of healthy Vitamins, Minerals and Phytonutrients.
They include: broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, choy sum, rutabaga, turnip, brussels sprouts, spring greens, kale, and some seeds used in the production of canola oil and mustard.
Low in starch and sugar but rich in other nutrients especially vitamins
Also packed with phytochemicals – have great antioxidant taught to benefit health
Their distinctive taste and to some an off putting smell are mostly linked to their high levels of sulphur containing compounds that forms part of a chemical defence system.
The flowers, seeds, stalks and tender leaves can be eaten raw or cooked. Almost all parts of some of the species have been developed for food that includes the roots (like turnip), stems (like kohlrabi, kale), leaves (like cabbage, kale), flowers (like cauliflower, broccoli), buds (brussels sprouts, cabbage), and seeds (many, including mustard seed, and oil-producing rapeseed)
They are also sometimes grown for ornament using the white or purple foliage or flowerheads.
Brassica vegetables provide a high amounts of Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Zinc, Manganese, and soluble fibre, and contain glucosinolates
Boiling substantial reduces levels of glucosinolates, while other cooking methods such as steaming, microwaving and stir frying have no significant effect on the glucosinolates level
