'And this is no empty hope, for God himself is the one who has prepared us for this wonderful destiny. And to confirm this promise, he has given us the Holy Spirit, like an engagement ring, as a guarantee. ' 2 Corinthians 5:5 TPT

Happy Friday! Hope your week was good. Mine was full of tests. Test! I do not like tests – it is necessary to take a test. A pilot must take a test and pass to fly the plane. A driver must take the test to pass and drive on the road, one hopes as some may need to retake the test 😀
Yes, tests are a necessary part of the journey.
This week in the midst of all work, one would have to fight for the peace and joy from the Lord. Standing Guard. How wonderful it is to be still and know that the Lord is God and He is great. How glorious to come to understanding that the Lord Jesus loves me no matter what. How peaceful it is to know that nothing can separate us from the love of God through Christ Jesus. And above all my engagement ring the Holy Spirit, leads me in the right path.
So I take heart and know that my Lord Jesus overcame it all.
I cast my crown of pride at the foot of the cross I look to the Lord my God He is strong and mighty in battle He has looked upon His servants And redeem my soul
How wonderful it is to read the scriptures and learn from it. Life is a puzzle and the pieces do come together at different times in life.
One ponders and meditates on the work of Paul in the book of 2 Corinthians 4. Verses 17 – 18.
Paul knew what suffering was and when he said it is small, it is small. His track record says it all.. Shipwrecked, Prisons, Beaten, Stoned, the list goes on… . In our eyes it might seem bigger but Paul says it is small and will not last long. Why?
‘For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.’….. (17-18 NLT)
Affliction: It is physical and temporary Better to have a temporary affliction Then a life of torment and permanent affliction in eternity. My soul, don’t listen to lies Let our eyes be fixed on the Lord
Our Light affliction: My soul, Compares to what others go through it is light A woman in labour screams pain Does it last? It might seem like it But the child in hand, makes the pain worth it. So we can say it is light because we know the end result We can say it is light compared to what Jesus did for us To what we deserve it is light. Our affliction is the tunnel that one goes through It is not a process that one endures to reach glory One passes through the tunnel to glory We see the light at the end of the tunnel So we have hope and walk the journey Our affliction is light because of the glory that it leads to. The light of the affliction can never compare to the weight of the glory My soul we have a choice in life Our walk with God Is letting go of every fleshy desires that tries to outweigh the glory of God They are light and can be easily shed through the power of the Holy Spirit Our affliction either brings us closer to God and we focus on the things unseen to produce a glory that outweighs the affliction Or we lose focus and look at the affliction and that becomes a burden too heavy to carry producing hatred, self-focus and misery. My soul the Lord is good And His mercy endures forever Remember and make a note of the goodness of God Giving thanks in all things He is always faithful Bless the Lord O my soul
