Come to my home each day and listen to me. You will find happiness.

“How you feel about tomorrow starts with today”

Thank You God that You sent the light of the world to shine brightest in my darkest day and that no shadow is cast out. Amen.

Routines are not just for today but for life: We are a creature of habits and having a routine in our daily life helps so much.

Nuggets for today are really geared in the direction of having a work space and home space both in our mind and physical home.

Routines can be boring but it means we get to be productive daily and know that we have accomplished something.

Having a routine gives us a reason to get up:

The brain feels more motivated when it achieves something, even as a child we need that compliments from our parents for the accomplishment we have done. Everyone wants to be recognised or maybe just me. It all started when we were children looking for that approval from our parents. Like cleaning our room or finishing our homework or getting a good grade.

It is no different to now, we get motivated knowing that we have accomplished something. We look forward to a reward and how you get a reward as an adult, you make them and get your mind to look forward to it.

So as we go into a second lockdown in the U.K. it is now necessary to have a morning routine to our daily lives. Not just morning but the whole day routine.

Things that have helped me daily for years now. So whether we work from home or go to work, we need a routine to make it work and life to be easy on ourselves. The big bad wolf stays outside your home and you get to have peace in your life.

Morning Routine – Prepare for work:

What that means is:

Praying, journaling and exercise. No compromise on these. Journaling gives a sense of what the day ahead will be like, being positive at the get go sets the day for what lies ahead. It’s all about intentionally looking to the brightest light in front of us and knowing that God is our strength, the rock behind that we can lean on. Jesus is the focus of our attention.

One thing I have learnt is to just write or type until you finish, then you can go back and edit but don’t stop the flow.

Have a work space that is separate from your living space. Definitely a no no on the bedroom. Don’t work from the bed as it is not good for your posture and it also doesn’t give you that sense of waking up completely.

Get up and shower, make your bed, get dressed and go to work. You will be amazed at what it does to the brain, knowing that you have to go to work, you have to get ready. Shower definitely wakes us up and gets us ready, better yet have a cold shower that definitely always wakes me up and it feels so good. Even if you are working at home, making that effort does wonder to you.

Create the morning routine to include breakfast.

Never work before breakfast; if you have to work before breakfast, eat your breakfast first. ~ Caroline B Collney

This is definitely true, and also breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

This is for people working from home as most people are: Log in 20 minutes before you start.

Maintain a normal working routine not to feel isolated. Log in at the same time as everyone and that gives you a chance to speak to your colleagues within working hours without feeling guilty. Stay connected with them, don’t be shy to pick up the phone instead of emails.

Be kind to yourself by making sure that you are always on time and don’t feel pressure or guilt to do extra hours just because you are at home.

Get a lunch break: use these time to self care for example mediate, relax and listen to your taught, spend time with your family to have lunch or friends.

If you are single and on your own:

Take time to read a book that you have wanted to read for so long and haven’t got the time to. Now you have all the time to listen to music, read the Bible. Never use your lunch times to catch up on news, or listen to news at any time during the working hours. You wouldn’t do it in normal working conditions. Why start it now? If you have already then you can unlearn it and get back into a self care routine.

There are limits to what we can do around us and that is the spread of the COVID19, as individuals our part is to stay safe and listen to what the professionals say.

Every person must submit to and support the authorities over him. For there can be no authority in the universe except by God’s appointment, which means that every authority that exists has been instituted by God. Romans 13:1 TPT
Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful day.

We often suffer but are never crushed, even if we don’t know what to do. Never give up, know that God is always with us. When we are knocked down, get up and let Jesus help you up.

“Nugget of Information”

For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him [whoever adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] will not be disappointed [in his expectations].”
For there is no distinction between Jew and Gentile; for the same Lord is Lord over all [of us], and [He is] abounding in riches (blessings) for all who call on Him [in faith and prayer]. For “ whoever calls on the name of the Lord [in prayer] will be saved .” Romans 10: 11 - 13 AMP

Copenhagen Cathedral church Frederik’s (Marble Church), Denmark.

Todays nuggets is about maintaining our connections and positivity with everyone:

It is so very weird, that I must admit when this whole crazy thing started I went to wearing my full armor of God and bashing the enemy with my sword. But as everyone else, I have slowed down until recently. I was reminded of a favorite verse that keeps me on my toes “Sin is crouching at your door you must master it – says the Lord” This verse is my favourite because of how Loving and Amazing God is. He will never scream and say what have done??? but will always encourage us to walk by faith not by sight. We see this in action as Jesus spoke to Martha.

So as I am encouraged by our  Wonderful Holy Spirit daily, London is going to lockdown from Thursday. The whole world needs prayers, and so much craziness happening in the world. Our Prayers are needed and we need to stand by faith and believe in our God.

But Martha became exasperated by finishing the numerous household chores in preparation for her guests, so she interrupted Jesus and said, “Lord, don’t you think it’s unfair that my sister left me to do all the work by myself? You should tell her to get up and help me.” Luke 10:40 TPT

Become a better you:

To become a better me, the m needs to change to w flip it from me to we.

The truth is becoming a better me is definitely not to complain about what others are doing or not doing. I have been both of these sisters and I prefer Mary, the relaxed one which means 80% of the time I am Martha getting all worked up for no reason and you have to love the answer Jesus gave “Martha, my beloved Martha. Why are you upset and troubled, pulled away by all these many distractions? Are they really that important? Luke 10:41b

As we go into the lockdown again I am reminded of what is really important to God, and that is choosing to sit at His feet. She is undistracted, and I won’t take this privilege from her.” Luke 10:41c

It is a privilege to sit at His feet, so becoming a better us is doing what He requires us to do and for us to do it. Me needs to be WE and that is the only way the body functions properly.

One habit at time:

Sitting at the foot of Christ means we are focused and not distracted by the world. It is amazing how much work can be done when we do it one at time instead of multi tasking.

One hand full of rest and patience is better than two fists full of labor and chasing after the wind. Ecclesiastes 4:6 AMP

Know your value to others:

We are all one body and very valuable in the body of Christ. Not a single member in the body is less valuable for we are all chosen by Christ and as we hear His voice we become part of that body. He is the head, for without the head the body doesn’t function. Some are seen and some are hidden but we are all one in the Spirit. And very important to God.

Contribution brings satisfaction:

It is true when God says that the greatest is the servant among you, there is much satisfaction in bringing yourself to the table. The gifts God has given us is always for us, if you can sing don’t just sing in the shower but sing for your family.

Look for opportunities to help others. Everyone has a need that we have in us to serve that need, some needs are just a listening ear or a smile.

One thing I am learning is that everything God gives us to do not only helps others but actually helps both parties participating.

Impact on your outlook, your resilience and positivity:

Staying in the word of God gives us the resilience that we need and that brings about a positive aspect in life.

Self respect and self worth is great because if you don’t love yourself you are not going to love someone else. The word of God lets us see ourselves as God sees us.

When you fly on an airplane, the flight attendant instructs you to “put your oxygen mask on first,” before helping others. … Because if you run out of oxygen yourself, you can’t help anyone else with their oxygen mask. COVID19 is a very long flight and we need to put our mask on first (full armour of God) and that is the only way we are going to help each other out.

I know that this year has given us a challenge to provoke growth in us, remember to wear your mask and armour of God each day.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful day.

The Holy Spirit is found in the Bible and nowhere else, always ask God for an encounter with Him and not by how others do it.

Proverbs 20:12 NIV

BUBBLES:

According to google bubbles defination: “used to refer to a good or fortunate situation that is isolated from reality or unlikely to last.”

Bubbles don’t last but our Humanity will last. In the UK we have our little bubbles or not depending on what is said.

How we react now will either be regret later or praise?

Things that you can do to change for the future and to know that it is never too late to be committed to the people around you.

We might be in a bubble but we can have a phone call. Sometimes a phone call is all we need.

Things to do while it is getting darker and the clock has moved forward and you need that motivation to get out of bed, also knowing that anything outside the duvet is not welcome except a cup of coffee or tea.

Get a journal or book near you so that every morning you write one word that will set you for the day.

Always think of one thing in the morning that you will do, write it down and that gives you a purpose and meaning to get up. Set the day with one word – ‘healthy’ that could mean physical, mental or eating. But it will be a word to set your day and your focus. It could be ‘worship’ but setting our mind on that word means we focus on one thing.

Call someone: One of the things I have learned is not to wait for someone to call you but be the first to do it. If anything COVID19 has taught us this year it is not good to be isolated.

Listen: Listening is action and requires our full attention and also a very good skill to have and practice daily. “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry” James 1:19b

That also includes listening to what our body is saying to us, like you need to sleep now and we ignore it until we actually can’t function anymore and fall asleep on the couch. Yes that is bad and should be avoided, I know sometimes we think we cannot help it but we can intentionally switch off and have rest. My motto is “Work can replace me if I die, so why kill myself over it” give it your all and have a break as well and don’t fall for the trap that says I will take a break when I need to because five hours later that one email needs you more than the break and you are still sitting down. Take a break regularly especially if you are on the screen always.

But be careful “Do not love sleep or you will grow poor; stay awake and you will have food to spare.” Proverbs 20:13 NIV

I have purposeful sets alarm for breaks because I was that person I will do and never did it, and this has helped me to focus and know that when it goes off it is breaks time.  Me time to just relax, eat or just close my eyes.

Thanks so much for stopping by and below is a picture of my weekend of fun.

God wants us to enjoy our everyday life

After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. John 20:20 NIV

2020 has been a year for everyone and it has not finished yet, the disciples saw Lord Jesus in John 20:20 and guess what we are experiencing the power of knowing who our God the Father and Almighty is this year 2020!

coffee shop in Kobenhavan V, Copenhagen a perfect place to relax.

Today’s nugget is the art of forming a habit to suit our lifestyle.

One of the most overlooked disciplines in our lives is the discipline of choice. I love choices, which you find in most of my writing.

Today choices are resting and stretching, two of the most overlooked and very vital in our everyday life.

It is really odd how these two choices are often overlooked and also very important areas of our lives that we overlook until a problem arises.

The time to relax is when you don’t have time for it.

Sydney Harris

Why is stretching important?

Before I get to why? “Stretching can be dangerous when performed incorrectly. “  Stretching is also automatic, look at a baby when you lift them up they stretch. Instinct that we do. It is not only for athletic but for everyone!

One of the things that I have personally learned and in the study of my nutrition is that stretching is good for the muscles.

Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage. Most of us sit all day and if your mobility is less and you spend more time sitting or standing all day, it is always good to stretch the muscles that you are using all day and also the ones you are not using to be ready when you need it.

Stretching the muscles that are not used to always be ready when needed is like when God says meditate on His word daily, so when we need it at the right time it is readily available to use.

Actions: Set a time after work or in the morning to stretch, start with a minute and move up as you go. It also helps you burn a small amount of calorie if you need a reason to stretch, but every little helps. So many videos regarding stretching that you can find to suit your lifestyle and we don’t have any reason to not do it

Stretching the muscle is a fascinating subject, the whole human body is fascinating. The thing that I have learned is that it is usually the neighbouring muscle that is causing the problem. For example if your knee hurts, it is sometimes the calf or even the hip that is causing the knee problem not always the case but most times. Which is why it is good to stretch them out

I found it fascinated to know that the whole body is connected and when one part is hurting the other part is also hurting.

Next is resting:

Resting is my favourite and something I need to practice more of, because after a day of rest  you feel so refreshed and energised. Resting is not just sleeping physically but also mentally.

When I’m trying to believe, I haven’t entered God’s rest. But when I do believe, I have complete rest in Him. Living by faith is not a struggle—it’s rest. And you can enter into God’s rest in every area of your life. – Joyce Meyers

One of the beauty of rest, I can be working and still be at rest in the mind. Rest is essential for us, sleep is very much needed as without it we become a zombie, very short tempered and ready to eat someone alive.

Take away:

Change your lifestyle to suit you:

Trust in the Lord our God to give us rest that no one can understand

Stretch your muscle daily so they are always ready when needed. The same goes with mediating His word daily so when needed we are ready for it.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30 NIV

“Nugget of Information”

O Lord, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your Name, For You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. Isaiah 25:1

Mindset right: See the distraction around the bed of lovely flowers. That how our mind gets distracted with everything around us. Picture wanting to do something and all the notifications on the phone and the untidy desk all calling for our attention. How to get the mind right?

Just wanted to share how I have learned to be healthy intentionally at home. Please note that these have helped me and continue it is a journey and you will need to find what helps for you and to be honest anything to do with serious health conditions I personally will always speak to my doctor first. Thanks for stopping by and I pray you will be inspired to get on your journey.

Before starting to think of getting into the habit of a healthy lifestyle, we have to start by clearing everything on our mind and surrounding. If you have ever had the term “Spring Clean” then that needs to happen to our surrounding as well as our mind. What I mean is that, we have so many distractions around us from our phones to the books on the table all looking to catch our attention. If you are like me that gets distracted very easily then completing one task at a time is a must.

Thinking multi-task is good, forget it, what it does is add more stress to the existing one. “Better a handful with quietness Than both hands full, together with toil and grasping for the wind-Ecclesiastes 4:6” You have to completely shift your thinking, it takes a while to get into it but it is totally worth it. ONE thing at a time is my motto.

If you decide to be healthy then you have to refocus and where possible and when possible only one task at a time. Healthy mindset to me was as simple as clearing the desk, tidying everything around me and that amazingly removes some stress out of my mind. What I learned from this was that with all the books around me it was very distracting and my mind kept looking at it. So just spending five minutes to pack it all up made a huge difference to my thinking.

Tip One: To clear everything in your eye sight, especially the space you spend most of the time in. Why should you clear it up? Because it is very distracting and doesn’t help with your focus. This is a physical and tangible thing to help you get your mind ready for better things that require your attention, not a pile of books on the table, or dirty dishes or laundry clothes that needs washing. They actually take some mental space and it doesn’t need to be.

Solution: Taking time out, let say an hour to do these things on a regular basis has helped with focusing on other things.

Tip Two: The next thing to do is the notifications on the phone, yes all those notifications. When we open the phone and all the notifications come up and we get so distracted from the purpose of why we use the phone in the first place. Why give such power to our phone? The last time someone tries to impose their thinking on me I switch off asap then why will we let our phone do that, think about it. We are giving our phone the power to tell us what to do.

In order to just focus on one thing at a time I had to stand up to my phone mentally and physically whatever you call it. I took the remote control back metaphorically speaking. Yes we are giving that much power to the phone to tell us what to do, switch the channels every second literally. But seriously don’t be like me, the first time I did it, I just switched everything off including text messages and no one could get hold of me. To be honest it felt good with the silence for twenty-four hours, before I got told off the next day and saw all the missed calls was not good but somehow good. So be sensible and only have the ones that are necessary on and the rest off. It felt amazing to open and do exactly what I want to do and not have things coming on the screen every five second. It was also weird and took time getting used to.

Once the tangible things are cleared the next thing is to help the mind to be clear and focus. Find something that will help you and stick with it for a while. One of the things that has helped me is kickboxing to calm my busy mind and make me focus on that task at hand. Some people do yoga, I do sometimes but it doesn’t help me. One other thing that I have learned is cleaning my teeth with my non-dominant hand daily helps me to focus on that task and my mind doesn’t wander off because I want my teeth clean.

At work when I can’t get away from it all and do some kickboxing. Two things I do is to close my eyes and breathe belly breath, pray or go outside and get some fresh air. Change of environment helps clear the mind. Whatever helps you to clear your mind, do it, far better than sitting down and stressing about it.

One of the things to remember is to adapt to the situation around you and not be overwhelmed by what goes on.

Always complete one task at a time, example your emails or any task that needs completing. The workload will flow and you will see that the work or emails starts to get down every hour and every minute. From ten down to zero. Keep that in mind as you do one task at a time. Visualise it and celebrate that you completed a task makes it worth it.

One more thing, this will not always be perfect for we live in an imperfect world. But we have a perfect God. So when you fail, please don’t beat yourself up, and never give up. But learn from your mistake and move on.

You cannot sit back and wait to be happy and healthy and have a great thought life; you have to make the choice to make this happen. You have to choose to get rid of the toxic and get back in alignment with God. You can be overwhelmed by every small setback in life, or you can be energized by the possibilities they bring.

~ Dr Caroline Leaf.

Takeaway: Decluttering your mind and surrounding has a massive effect on your productivity.
