'In Him was life [and the power to bestow life], and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it]. ' John 1:4-5 AMP

Grace and peace to you from God the Father and Saviour of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Hope you had a very good weekend. Mine was interesting and fun from Friday night to Sunday.
Welcome to the vault…
Follow me, on Saturday I was immersed in the story of Jesus: the synoptic gospel – Matthew, Mark and Luke – unified view of the life of Jesus. It was very interesting looking at the gospel so fast – like a trailer.
I did learn that all three gospel views were selective and creative as led by the Holy Spirit. Like any creative writer as our teacher Liam points us to the Book of John:
‘There are also many other signs (attesting miracles) that Jesus performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; ‘ John 20:30 AMP
‘And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were recorded one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.’ John 21:25 AMP
Fascinating – I find the Bible very fascinating. My understanding of it is the Grace of God.
It was not written in our days and the people that listened to it had an understanding of the parables. Jesus knew that we would read it. The parable of the sower – the farmer drops the seeds first before plowing, which makes sense to the audience. But not to us.
I have come to learn: The bible is not about me or you and to NEVER read the wonderful story of God like a consumer.
The Bible is not for us to rip apart to fit our wants and our wants always change.
“It is a lamp that lights the path. It guides us and not a text to lead us astray. The intended purpose is to teach the truth, rebuking errors, correcting faults and giving instruction for right living.”
Learning to read the gospel in the context it was intended and looking from the inside (the verse, the one before and after and then the whole chapter and then enter the entire gospel and understanding in the content of the whole bible what the writer intended for the reader to grasp in that time gives you a whole new picture of what the Bible is). Use your imagination when reading the Bible, sit and reflect on what you learnt. If it references an old testament, go and read the chapter of the text. Understand the story. “God’s Big and Love Story”
It is a relationship with God the Father through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Fascinating! So yes, come follow me!
On Sunday as we continued on 1 Peter – looking at Holiness in chapter one. Reflecting on this verse:
'So prepare your minds for action, be completely sober [in spirit—steadfast, self-disciplined, spiritually and morally alert], fix your hope completely on the grace [of God] that is coming to you when Jesus Christ is revealed. ' 1 Peter 1:13 AMP As I meditate on verse thirteen above: Prepare your hearts and mind for action - how do we prepare our hearts and minds? Set our mind on the things above We have salvation Salvation is from God alone We didn’t earn or need to ever work for it. It is also interesting that we have the full armour of God to wear so we will be able to withstand the schemes of the enemies. Never go into a battle unarmed, you setting yourself up for a failure Because the enemy, the devil, roams around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. So I think and reflect, I spend too much time reflecting. It is part of my character! Last week, everywhere I turned “it is a process” kept flashing into my eyes and mind. And as I was running on Saturday, which was really hard this week. My body was just tired and my heart was beating so fast (upon checking it on my watch, it did say I was at the peak for 80% of the time, figure that out). So I reflect on prepare your mind: I set my mind on doing seven miles in just over an hour and did 7.76 in an hour and twenty-eight. I pushed myself and for what reason? I want to and I am building my long distance running. My mind was set on completely the task In all things, prepare your minds for action All things start in our minds and heart Always pre-decide what you want to achieve If you want to achieve it then learn the act of not snoozing. Do it and don’t fear. Better yet, do it afraid and Learn and that is the way to progress What can I do better? In my case: Go party and not dance too much. As I was out partying on Friday night and dancing - my Pastor’s Birthday. I spoke to a friend as we were dancing - how the strength of God helps us when we think we are empty. "Her story ended with - It is through Christ who strengthen me." It was a long week of study and work but I made it today and only came out so I can see my family." The point is my mind was made up. Left early on Friday to get home before ten so I can have enough rest. Yes, figure that out. Which explains why I was very tired on the run… because I was out dancing. Come let us get back to the topic.. To be completely sober is a process - It starts with a five minutes talk with the Lord Then you find that it is not enough, I want more Then twenty minutes and in the process It does become natural to speak to God every single time And the same with work, you learn and progress But we must be sober And not let the process become legalist or ritual We must be sober and morally alert and not lean on our own understanding Yes we must be sober, and not let fear drive us but know that we have Power, love and sound mind So when Christ is revealed to us by the Holy Spirit It is by faith in the Lord that we walk in It is by faith we come to completion Yes even our faith is by the grace of God And it is such an amazing gift from God. Blessed, grateful, praised and adored be to our Father and Saviour of our LORD Jesus Christ. Make a joyful shout to the LORD Worship the LORD with joy Come before Him with happy songs! Acknowledge that the LORD is GOD! The LORD made us, and we belong to HIM We are HIS people, we are HIS sheep Come and worship HIM with thanksgiving Enter HIS courts with praise It is better to be in the House and The presence of the LORD than anywhere else and The LORD is good and HIS LOVE is eternal and HIS faithfulness is forever
